In the future, do not take a good strong dose of NyQuil, then drift off to sleep while reading first hand accounts of the Western Front during World War I. Drugged fever dreams about mud, gas, explosions, and barbed wire are no fun.
That's a good one. I listened to those and most of his Julius Caesar episodes when I was driving to and from NRA last year.
Thing is, when I listened to Ostfront, I could picture the places he was talking about. Either I'd spoken to Russian and German vets of the war (a consequence of learning both German and Russian in the Army) or I'd actually been there. The Russians still maintain a lot of the historical preservations around major battlegrounds.
Interesting, I feel the same way about fever dreams and Tolkien. blood and bullets don't mess with me, but just one giant spider and I am an unhappy napper.

I'm listening to Dan Carlin's "Ghosts of the Ostfront" and I would recommend staying away from it, as well.
