Strange Phenomenon

Well, not that strange, but definitely something I have noticed.

I met LawDog over the weekend, and it was a pleasure.  But now, when I read his posts, I hear them in his voice.  I've noticed the same thing with other bloggers I've met.  I no longer hear their writings in my 'head voice', but now with their voice and accent.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Yeah, though from podcasts rather than actually meeting people.

Yep, which means I can never actually meet LawDog... because I'm really enjoying having Sean Connery read his posts to me.

all. the. time. especially Weerd and Jay. but i think that's because they're the loudest of the group i've met. :)

Yep, especially after listening to Vicious Circle. LabRat, Weer'd, and JayG are the most distinctive to me.

I have. I'm in the wrong part of the county to meet you or Lawdog. I'd like to, but it isn't likely.

I've met a few people who are local to me in Ohio and am generally surprised. I find that I not only assign a voice to an unknown blogger, but an image as well. All the people I've met face to face have no resemblance at all to the image I've assigned them. Just as well in some cases.

I tend not to meet people from the Internet. For one thing I value my privacy; for another, these people are anonymous for a reason, and it isn't the same reason your wife talks you into buying a lawn ornament.

Probably the only blogger I'd travel across the country to meet would be Fred Reed, and that's because Fred is generally retired and strikes me as someone who does not give one final damn what people think of him, either on the Internet or in person - hence, he has no ax to grind. If he did, it wouldn't be an ax, it would be a chainsaw.

Of course if you're ever up around Toledo, don't hesitate to send me an email and it'll be my pleasure to buy you a drink or two.

Thanks Jay, now I've got my grandmother and the Housewives of South Boston going through my head.

Mad Jack, same goes for you. If you're ever down in IndiUcky, give me a shout.

Oh, and I resent Laura's implication that I am loud.

I am not loud, I am enthusiastic.

Weerd is loud... :D

Yep, and I see their mannerisms, too. Which is amusing. And for some reason, when you get particularly scathing, I tend to see a smirking Siamese lurking near your keyboard.

>Sean Connery

Is he the guy who does the killer Connery imitation? I laugh my butt off every time on VC.

well from my sample size of one (OldNFO who I have had the pleasure of meeting) no, it doesn't happen to me :)

Sean Connery on VC was Roadkill. He is pretty awesome at it, no?

Yes, and now that the list of those I've met has gotten rather long, well let's just say the voices in my head are quite varied.

Jay, loud is both literal and figurative. You're very outspoken, which could mean you're one of our louder bloggity types. ;)
