Saturday Spider Pics

Not sure if this is going to be a recurring theme here, but I have more spider pics for a Saturday morning.

This big fellow was relaxing on his web between two shrubs at the StopnRob when Girlie Bear and I stopped off to pick up a couple sodas last night.  I didn't get too close so I wouldn't disturb him, but he looked to be about 2 inches long, with some really interesting black, tan, white, and yellow markings on him.

Black and Yellow Garden Spider. And that one is a 'she'. I have her twin right outside my office window. They are mostly harmless, but look imposing. Enjoy.

I hadn't seen one like her in this area before, but Irish Woman says they used to be quite common in the area she grew up in.

Beautiful orb-weaver. They are all over down here and make the coolest webs. Some of the webs (and spiders) are downright huge. They are a great spider, they're effective and docile. Nice pics.

Nephila clavipes. Get bigger, and thicker on the ground, the further south you go.

Thanks LabRat. The daughter must be watching too much MegaMind, because she declared it Arachnis Deathicus.
