Things I wish I could see again

All of us have things we wish we could do again.  There are places and people we'd like to see one more time.  Some of them are from our childhood, some we experienced as adults.

Every now and then, and for some reason more frequently lately, I will be reminded of something that I cherished, but will probably never see again.

  • Sunrise over the desert in Arizona
  • Sunset in West Texas
  • The night sky over the Great Plains
  • Snow drifting across the prairie
  • The changing of the guard at Buckingham and Red Square
  • A thunderstorm coming down a valley in the Wasatch
  • A lightning storm in the Chiracahuas
What are some of the things in your life you wish you could see one more time?

The snowdrops and crocuses coming up in the medians of the roads in the spring in Berlin.

The chestnuts in bloom in Berlin.

The swans swimming in the Landwehr canal.

Going to Peacock Island on the Wannsee and seeing all the beautiful peacocks.

Hand-feeding songbirds and squirrels in the Berlin Botanical Gardens.

I wish I'd been able to see more of Berlin than Teufelsberg. Someday.....

Who says you can't see some of those things again? The sun still rises in Arizona, and thunderstorms still roll across the Wasatch. I'm sure your wife and kids would appreciate seeing these things, too.

By the time I will be able to afford that much travel, I'll be too old. But here's hoping!
