Looks like we're going to get about 3 or 4 inches, which is about the middle of what was predicted

NFO, after the drive home in the snow this afternoon, I can safely report that while it could have been worse, there were a lot of fools on the road. That's why when it snows here and I know I can still drive, I park my car. Too many fools on the road.

Mr. G - Yep, I forgot that. If you read JayG's blog, he goes over that pretty well. I will add that even in cold weather, products like RainX are worth their weight in gold when trying to keep snow and such off your glass, especially side windows where there aren't wipers.DaddyBearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07508543148426098384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1657394535887928020.post-74576638398131547352011-01-20T21:17:32.812-05:002011-01-20T21:17:32.812-05:00Also add to your suggestion, is to do more to your...Also add to your suggestion, is to do more to your car than chisel peep holes in the windshield for you to see through while driving, you can't use your peripheral vision to see the rest of the road. if your car ain't in a garage, crank it up a few minutes early and scrap the windshield, side glass and mirrors along with the lights. Also flip up the wiperblades before the snow hits. It will save you some rubber when you first turn them on and some rubber is left behind on the glass.
Drive slow and if you have a stick, use the highest gear possible, less chance of spinning the tires and spinning out. Also if you have a rear wheel car/truck, fill up the gas tank and put some weight in the trunk/bed. the extra weight will help.
I learned this stuff from 5 years in Germany and having a mustang GT. In wintertime I had to put a lot of ballast in the trunk.
I enjoy the website:)MrGarabaldihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05768774166065615995noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1657394535887928020.post-36823860271026413872011-01-20T12:14:33.768-05:002011-01-20T12:14:33.768-05:00Excellent post! Last year when we had Snomageddon here, we were using 4wd to take the folks to the store/pharmacy or getting their meds for them. It was nice that the pharamcies basically worked WITH us to make that happen. Stay safe!Old NFOhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16404197287935017147noreply@blogger.com
